Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Sarah at Pierce Ranch

Oct 16, 2013 / Bridals
This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Andrew's wedding, so we can finally share the lovely Mrs. Armour's bridal portraits!

Over the past year, we've gotten to go out to the historic Pierce Ranch many times to meet with and visit Sarah and Andrew. If you are a blog follower, you'll remember that we photographed their fishing-themed styled engagement session this past spring, which was featured on the national blog, The Wedding Chicks.

It's only fitting that we went back to their ranch for this bridal shoot. As we drove down the tree-lined driveway and arrived at the main house on the ranch, The Live Oak House, we were greeted by the lovely trio of ladies that accompanied Sarah (her mother, her future mother-in-law, and her grandmother.) We had a fun evening together, and of course, had a beautiful bride to photograph!

I love this one of Sarah laughing. As I was selecting the photographs to feature on the blog, I wanted to show this one because it reminds me of what a sweet and down-to-earth person that Sarah is. I feel corny saying it, but everyone loves you!

This picture (with another ranch home, called The Ranch House, in the background) is the one that Sarah selected as her portrait to display at the reception.

At the end of the shoot, as a special treat for Andrew and a nod to their engagement shoot, Sarah wanted to take a few pictures by the lake.

You won't see too many silhouette photos from us, but we're suckers for this one of Sarah. For some reason, it reminds me of Gone With The Wind. So southern!

A quiet moment

Sep 30, 2013 / Weddings

As their guested formed lines with sparklers in hand, preparing for a grand exit, Krista and Cade spent a few quiet moments together and swayed to one final song before they left their wedding celebration.

Win a Starbucks card!

Sep 10, 2013 / Our Life
Call me crazy, but I think that Fall is getting closer and closer here along the Texas Gulf Coast. The early morning air is a little crisper, evening seems to creep up quicker, and retail displays are changing to autumn decor and clothing.

The changing of a season always brings about a little spark of excitement. Cooler temperatures and fall decor have us wanting to make frequent trips to home goods stores to find our next wreath or warm fuzzy blanket to curl up on the couch with. Of course, we know our favorite parts of fall, but we want to get your input on this too!

Below are some of our favorite parts of fall, and if you had to pick one over the other, which one would it be? Leave your answers in the comment section below. We will select a random commenter and give you a $15 Starbucks gift card so you can get your favorite fall sip-able beverage!
Sleeping with the windows open OR snuggling by the fire?

Mums OR Pumpkins for front porch decorations?

Apple Cider OR Hot Cocoa?

Fire Roasted Hot Dogs OR S'mores?

Funny OR Scary Costumes?

Tomorrow we will announce the winner and email you to get your address :)
