Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Personal :: Lindsey and Kench on Film

Nov 27, 2012 / Our Life, Film
A few weeks ago our friends Lindsay and Kench came over for an afternoon of hanging out. The backstory is, several months ago we first met Lindsay when she came and spent a day with us for a mentorship. Back then, we had just started on our film adventure and Lindsay had said that if we ever needed a model that her and her husband would love to be our guinea pigs.

They needed some photos for Christmas cards, and we needed someone to let us shoot an entire session in film. So here's Lindsay and Kench... and later on, their adorable daughter Claire joined in for some pictures too. She is quite the ham.

After we got through piddling around with the camera we headed to Boling's #1 Hotspot, Mach's Restaurant, for some cheese enchiladas (my fave) and ketchup (Claire's fave.)

Jed and Katie :: Film

Nov 26, 2012 / Engagements, Film
You might have noticed that we got a whole slew of film images back from the lab last week.

Here's another look at Katie and Jed's engagement session we shot on their ranch. Again, we blogged the digital images a few weeks ago but we just got their film pictures in.

So here's Katie and Jed... on film!

Meg's Bridals

Nov 23, 2012 / Bridals
The day of Meg's bridals, we kept checking the weather. It looked cloudy, but the forecast kept saying no rain.

As Meg finished her hair and makeup appointments, she and her mom loaded in the car and headed towards our house. She texted me and said it was raining on them while they were driving, but they were coming anyway.

As the clouds rolled in, we started racking our brains on what we could do for Meg. A lightbulb went off and an idea was put into motion. You see, months ago when we installed the hardwood floors and carefully selected the perfect shade of grey (Benjamin Moore Elephant Skin, by the way) for the walls, we had this long-term vision of one day shooting some editorial style bridals in our house. We had even went as far as to pick our model and start thinking about the feasibility of how this could happen.

As the rain made its way to our town and splashed loudly on our roof, I saw Meg and her mom pull in our driveway. We were ready for her. I ran outside with a giant umbrella and hurriedly brought her and her mom in, explaining that the rain was here to stay, but we had an idea if they were game.

The results were something we have been waiting to share. We are proud to bring you Meg's bridal portraits, shot in our home on a rainy day. Enjoy!
