Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Chris and Haley's Wedding :: Houston Wedding Photographer

Jun 20, 2012 / Weddings

Some weddings just stick with you.

I have a feeling, the fabulous wedding of Haley and Chris will be one of those for us. From the amazing styling by A Style Collective, to the down-to-earth families and bridal party, to the perfect love shared between the bride and groom... this wedding is one of our favorites!

Enjoy Chris and Haley's wedding!

The unofficial theme of this wedding was a Transitional wedding - not vintage, not traditional, but not modern. Somewhere right in the middle. This led to so many wonderful details, whether it was the adorable yellow bow ties on the men, or the little yellow balls in the flowers.

Haley is truly a beautiful person, inside and out. All day long she treated her bridal party and family with utmost respect and kindness. If there is an opposite of bridezilla, it is Haley! And just look how gorgeous she looked on her wedding day!

Chris had a special gift to open...

... dog-tags from one of his best friends (and the Best Man) who wasn't able to attend the wedding as he is serving our country overseas.

Haley had her own gift from Chris, and quite the nicely written card, too.

A stunning bouquet - with blueberries!

The girls had the. most. amazing. bridal. suite. ever. It was a huge room decorated in exquisite turn-of-the-century linens and furniture.

I'm pretty sure everyone in this photo is thinking, "Wow..."

Last minute finishing touches from Mom.

Right before Haley walked down the aisle, her father came down to see his daughter. He said, "You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

After the tears were all dry, Haley and her dad were all laughs waiting to walk down the aisle.

What a magnificent church! Also, be sure to notice the empty spot for the Best Man who is serving our country. Such a touching tribute!

Right after the ceremony, we stumbled upon this embrace, right in the first moments of being husband and wife.

What a good lookin' bridal party!

I love these ladies!

Then, it was portrait time with the bride and groom... our favorite. We'd been thinking it was going to rain all day, but the sun peeked out of the clouds and we were able to get some of our favorite portraits ever!

Off to the reception we go, featuring beautiful event design by A Style Collective... who, by the way, is Haley's mother Tina, and one of her bridesmaids, Kirbi.

Three cupcake towers stood behind the wedding cake... such a cute idea!

As a special surprise, a video from the Best Man.

Then it was party time! And this group knew how to have some fun!

...and they lived happily ever after!

Chris and Haley, it's hard to believe your wedding has already came and gone. We have loved every minute of getting to know you guys better, laughing and spending time with you, and meeting your terrific friends and family. Thank you for allowing us to be there for the first day of your marriage!

Confession Time.

Jun 19, 2012 / Our Life
I have a confession to make. I download sappy songs on Monday mornings.

And why, you might ask?

It's from all of these amazingly sweet songs I keep hearing at weddings we're photographing.

Way back when we photographed our first wedding, the groom and the mother of the groom danced to Goodnight My Angel by Billy Joel. Of course, I got teary-eyed, but I thought it was just a one-time deal. Now I know that is not the truth. I get teary eyed several times throughout each wedding we photograph, but that's not the point.

The point is, my iTunes music is extra sappy and I love it. :)

Just recently I downloaded these two gems... What A Difference You've Made in My Life by Ronnie Milsap (this past weekend's mother-son dance) and Thanks Again by Ricky Skaggs (played during the parent dance at Lauren and Braden's wedding).

Anyway, if you're a sappy song lover, too, or if you're thinking about some good tunes to play at your own wedding... I suggest download those oldies but goodies.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Marcus and Wendy's Wedding

Jun 18, 2012 / Weddings

We had a wonderful day with Marcus and Wendy, and feel so blessed to have been able to celebrate their marriage with their amazing friends and family.

Enjoy looking through their beautiful day!

Marcus was all smiles for the big day.

Boys will be boys!

Last minute touch-ups for the flowergirl...

...while Wendy peeked out at the guests as they arrived.

A proud dad gets ready to walk his daughter down the aisle.

The cutest little old timey car came and whisked the couple away to the reception.

Right before this picture happened, Wendy saw a wedding guest and said, "Oh hi! Have I introduced you to my husband, Marcus?" This was literally about 3 minutes after they got married. Wendy turned and laughed and gave me this little grin. Hehe!

Wendy and Marcus get a hats-off from us from having the most personal wedding details at the reception that we've ever seen. They truly incorporated so many aspects of their life and background into their decor. These signs are spelled phonetically - which is an ode to Wendy's career as a speech pathologist. They were all over the reception!

Wendy and the ladies in her family are super-crafty, and they made these awesome wreaths themselves.

We just love it when people incorporate sentimental details in their bouquets. That's Wendy's grandmother's ring, and her mother-in-law's lace from her own wedding.

Right as the sun went down, it was portrait time with Wendy and Marcus. They gave us a good chunk of time with them and we are so excited for them to have so many special portraits from their wedding day. It was hard to narrow it down to our favorites, but here's a few!

Wendy and Marcus - you had a beautiful day. It's hard to believe that it has already came and went. We feel so blessed that you allowed us to be there with you on your wedding day. Best wishes from us for a long and happy life together!
