Valerie : Making those Pinterest ideas your own is absolutely the best part! I look back and instead of just a pretty idea I found on Pinterest, I see the jars that came from my great-grandparents' house, wrapped in ribbon and decorated with lots of love and patience by my mom and a dear family friend. I see signs that represent the 1500 miles that Jeff and I shared a relationship across for 2 1/2 years. I see beautiful flowers on a pew in the church where my parents were married and then raised my brother and me--those same pews that were occupied for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals, Christmas pageants, VBS and Sunday school activities. I see beautiful Texas-grown flowers (important to me because I now live in Virginia) wrapped a piece of my grandma's wedding dress (I told Jeff I loved him for the first time after reading a letter she wrote my papa while he was overseas during WWII), corn hole boards lovingly painted by my super-talented God-mother, wedding cards in an old family suitcase that I kept my Polly Pockets in when I was a little girl, and a moment with my daddy that I'll never forget. How neat to see the ideas I found shown side-by-side with the final products that helped tell our story at our wedding! Aug 10, 2013 at 5:23PM
