Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Floral Inspiration :: Fall Colors

Mar 22, 2013 / Weddings
Continuing our journey through floral inspiration, this week I'm featuring my favorite seasonal flowers... FALL!

I think the idea of incorporating fall colors into your bouquets is a terrific idea if you are getting married in the fall. We were married at Christmastime and our bouquets were Christmas colors. I like seasonal stuff!

Featured bouquets (left to right) by Agave Brothers (Houston), Agave Brothers again, and Carter's Florist (Houston).

Grateful

Mar 21, 2013 / Weddings, Our Life
A few weeks ago we were at Briscoe Manor shooting Megan and James' wedding. As the day went on, I kept hearing Megan mention to Luke (or me, too, sometimes) that before the day was over she had something to give us.

"Something to give us?"

You mean US? Like as in Luke and Cat?

I didn't linger too long on the thought as something else came to mind.

Go get a picture of the cake.

or...

Are those personalized M&Ms with their NAMES on them?

A few hours later the reception was almost over and Luke said, "Hey did you see what Megan got us?"

Then he pulled out this...

Megan had seen me pin this onto my Pinterest a few months ago and ordered it... as a gift... for US.

At that moment, I was completely overcome with this feeling. I am grateful.

I am so grateful for the people we get to meet, who invite us to share the most exciting day of their lives, and welcome us with open arms into their inner circles and private moments. We are blessed to get to be the only person in the room with a father and daughter in the moments before they walk down the aisle. We are blessed to get to be there the first few seconds of a couple's marriage right after they say "I Do." We are blessed to catch a glimpse of the bride's mother wiping a tear as the couple makes their getaway.

But mostly we are blessed by the couples we get to work with.

And now every day, I will wake up and see this sign sitting on my dresser, which happens to have one of my favorite bible verses on it, and think about how lucky we are. :)

Thank you, Megan, for making US feel so special!

Morgan and Kyle's Wedding :: Texas A&M

Mar 20, 2013 / Weddings
Our first wedding of the year was in our favorite place... Aggieland! Morgan and Kyle chose to get married at Texas A&M's newly renovated Memorial Student Center. This was our first time back to the MSC since it has been renovated, and it is so beautiful!

Morgan and Kyle are one of the sweetest couples that we've ever been blessed to work with. Their wedding ceremony was centered around their faith, and their preacher gave a wonderful 'sermon' during the ceremony. I'm pretty sure every married couple in attendance was nodding their head (or elbowing their spouse) as we were all reminded of the vows we have taken ourselves. :)

Morgan got ready in the also newly renovated MSC hotel suites. Wowzers! This was like a 5 star hotel, complete with A&M embroidered pillowcases!

I love this one of Morgan's sister finishing up the back of Morgan's dress.

I think I must have fallen off the couch I was kneeling on right after I took this picture. Morgan, you are so gorgeous... inside and out.

As we were walking down the hall to take the bridesmaid's photos, Morgan's soon-to-be mother-in-law saw her for the first time.

How about the cool light display in the MSC two story foyer?

Kyle is a former football player for Texas A&M. His groomsmen had this idea of lifting him up over their shoulders. I chanted "Rudy... Rudy... Rudy..." Kyle's face looks sorta afraid, but the face of all of his friends = priceless! They were having the time of their life!

Another favorite - Morgan and her dad relaxing in the empty hotel suite waiting for their turn to go down the aisle.

Fairy tale moment in front of the fountains!

Gig 'em Aggies!

In true football player style, Kyle threw the garter on a football.

For those of you who aren't Aggies, this is a 12th Man Towel. We wave them at football games (you can read more about them here) but Morgan and Kyle got their OWN towels made!

Kyle got Morgan a special gift for their wedding - Ring Wraps for her Aggie Ring! You can see the diamonds around the ring... way to go Kyle!

While their guests lined up inside and waved the towels....

...they made their way to the sparklers! Congratulations!

Morgan and Kyle, thank you both for letting us be there for your big day! We couldn't have picked a better couple to start off our 2013 weddings! I can't wait to see where life takes you both!

Friends and family, take a moment to sign Morgan and Kyle's guestbook and view the rest of their wedding images!
