Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Floral Inspiration :: Purples

Mar 8, 2013 / Weddings
For the next few weeks, we'll be featuring some floral inspiration and trends that we've noticed over the past weddings that we have photographed.

We're starting off with purple. Some of our prettiest bouquets from last year were the purple ones!

Featured bouquets (left to right) by The Blooming Gallery (Houston), Doug Smolik (Wharton), and Last Petal (Austin).

Fun Stuff :: Hay Day

Mar 7, 2013 / Our Life
Once again, I hang my head in shame as another iPhone game has consumed our time. Subway Surfers is old news for us. We have now been sucked into Hay Day.

This game is free and it's your token farming game. I want to preface all of this by saying that I get really irritated by people sending me game requests on Facebook.... like irate. So, I don't have any of these games connected to Facebook... thank goodness.

That being said... if I WAS connected to Facebook, I would have more diamonds. And you need diamonds to buy stuff. But that's another story. :)

Here's the first screen I see... it takes too long to load, by the way. Thank you, slow country internet.

Here's my 'farm.' I named my farm "Boss of Neumayr Ranches" for reasons that will be clear by the title of the next farm below.

I'm at Level 28 and it's taken me like 3 weeks to get here. I used to have Farmtown or Farmville (I don't remember which one) on Facebook a long time ago, and this game is better for me because you can leave it for days or weeks at a time and nothing 'goes bad.' It just stays there until you come back.

Here's Luke's farm, which he named "Neumayr Ranches." Now you get why I named my farm what I did. :)

He's only at Level 26. Lame-o. He says it is because I play it more often than him. I think it's because I'm highly skilled.

Do you play HayDay? If you do, comment with your GameCenter name so we can add you :)

On second glance...

Mar 6, 2013 / Our Life
In my quest to be a better housewife and homemaker, I've been trying to make our bed every single day. I have been spending the first hour or so of the day tidying up our room, our office, and our living and dining rooms. This really sets the tone for a productive day. Plus, it rids me of the panic that I used to have each time someone drove up unannounced to our house.

Now, most of the time, I'd be happy if someone stopped by unexpected.

When we redid some things in our house last year, we moved into a new bedroom in our house. We wanted our bedroom to be light and airy and a place that was relaxing. With our bedroom tidy and our bed made, along with all of the blinds on the windows open, this room is my favorite place in the whole house.

But occasionally, I glance in the room and there's something special that makes me love it even more.

I spy a sleeping Wilma dog!

Wilma loves a made bed, and she especially likes to go lay in "pillow world." Many times we go looking for her and she is passed out right on top of our pillows. Thank goodness for cameras :)
